Amanda Windred

I have always been an artistically inclined human - from the children’s choir at my local primary school, drawing, painting and reading growing up.
I have always wanted to explore different avenues to express emotions and portray the human experience. This desire has only grown as I have aged and I find myself choosing repertoire that shows the extremes of human emotion and experience.
-
I am relatively new to the Forest Collective experience, however being able to join the team to premier 'The Sea' was a major highlight for me.
I loved that we were able to
a) give a platform to those that have been victims of humanities worst behaviours, and a safe space to process feelings.
b) highlight for those that have never been a victim of manipulation or violence, how it all starts from the smallest of behaviours and expands from there.

When not performing in shows, I am also found in the background either as a hair and makeup artist or doing social media.
-
Jackson Pollocks ‘Convergence’ - Jackson Pollock inspired me to pursue work in abstract art for many of my earlier years.
-
Verdi Requiem - This is not only a piece that I inspire to perform one day, it also is my go to when I want to escape from the world for a bit.
