Max Lawrence, song-writer and singer for Chlorophyll

Melbourne based artist Max Lawrence has been performing and songwriting for nearly 5 years, engaging and collaborating in the tertiary music community while completing a Bachelor of Music Performance at Monash University. Stylistically, Max specialises in intimate, soulful songs that span alt-pop, indie electronic and ambient folk. With a rich lower range and a soaring falsetto, Max sings about opening up to the beauty of nature, our inner selves and to each other through majestic choruses and dynamic live performance. His songs also explore darker subject matter complemented with skin-crawling textures, haunting melodies and driving beats, akin to that of Perfume Genius, or Moses Sumney; but with the avant pop sensibility of Lorde or Bjork. His debut EP “Chlorophyll”, produced by GOLDNOIR is out now, with a much more music on its way.
