Belinda Dalton.

Soprano.

 

Melbourne-based soprano Belinda Dalton hails from the small town of Berry on the South Coast of NSW, and holds a BMus Hons (2011) and a Masters (2013) in classical voice performance from the University of Melbourne. She studied acting under the late Helen Noonan, and has trained extensively with international tenor Christopher Lincoln-Bogg. 

Belinda is known as a flexible and versatile performer, comfortable with a broad range of styles, from the modern repertoire she specialised in during her Masters, to her favourite high Romantic repertoire, to historical performance practice. She has performed with a variety of companies and theatres including Opera Australia, Victorian Opera, Melbourne Opera, BK Opera, Lyric Opera Black Hole Theatre, and XL Arts. Her roles include Due sorella cercatrice and due sorella conversa (Suor Angelica); Cardano’s Mother (Biographica); Mimi (La Boheme); Konstanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail).

Following a recent two year hiatus, during which she earned a degree in Psychology, Belinda won the 2023 Shoalhaven Eisteddfod Aria Contest, was a semi-finalist in the 2023 Herald Sun Aria, and was the winner of the 2024 Bluescope WIN Wollongong Aria.
