Melete's Practice
Melete's Practice brings together some stunning traditional works and mixes them with some premiere pieces that are sure to excite. 2011 has brought Forest Collective into artistic maturity, and to celebrate the collective come together to create a feast of visual and performing arts with inspiration from the great tales and myths through to the hum-drum everyday. The performance features a newly commissioned work from Forest Collective Artistic Director Evan Lawson, through to multifaceted live performance project ‘Bearskin’ under the direction of Kim Summer, a reinvention of the much-loved Ravel String Quartet to include Dancers, a music game using music and sounds from J.S Bach and an exhilarating Union of a story of Edgar Allen Poe, music of Andre Caplet and the live practice of Forest Collective in The Mask of the Red Death.
