Ian Crossfield is a classical double bass player whose passion lies in new music, operatic and symphonic playing. Working within the opera and symphonic industry Ian has formed a repertoire of sounds and techniques he hopes to incorporate into a smaller ensemble.

From articulate pointed runs to long dark rich tones these sounds are often hidden behind an opera singers voice or symphony orchestra. Ian intends to make his bass speak in a way it often does but that is not often heard and make people aware of the power, finesse and wide library of extended techniques the double bass can produce.
