Phoebe Smithies
Phoebe Smithies is a freelance horn player and has performed with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, Australian Opera and Melbourne Opera. She studied music at Melbourne University and the Australian National Academy of Music.
She is passionate about chamber music, and is co-founder of Salon Project, whose focus is accessible, entertaining and intimate chamber concerts featuring Australian and women composers.
Phoebe is also a part-time physiotherapist, and incorporates her knowledge of movement and the human body into her performances. She was drawn to Forest Collective by their commitment to exciting and innovative new music, as well as their blending of visual art, space, movement and music to create beautiful unforgettable concert experiences.
