Event Volunteers

Forest Collective is currently seeking musicians to join its ranks as permanent members of its ensemble. Forest Collective is a collective of musicians who perform regular collaborative and engaging chamber music concerts in Melbourne. With a focus on contemporary music, Forest Collective aims to create accessible, friendly and inclusive performance experiences that introduce audience members to a wide variety of contemporary trends in music and performance. Previous performances have included collaborations with dancers, filmmakers, theatre makers and composers.

Some highlights include sold out seasons for Midsumma Festival, Metropolis New Music Festival, Melbourne Fringe, concerts at Burrinja Cultural Centre, Melbourne Recital Centre, National Gallery of Victoria and successful funding applications from Creative Victoria, VCA, Melbourne University, City of Yarra and others. Works have been commissioned by some of Australia’s finest composers including Lisa Illean, Evan J Lawson, Johanna Selleck, May Lyon, Michael Bakrencev, among others, and collaborations have seen Forest Collective perform with cabaret music sensation Danielle Asciak, pop music doyen Addison, choreographer and dance Ashley Dougan and many more. Forest Collective is run as a profit share collective. However, performance fees are paid when funding has been secured for certain projects.

We are recruiting for a Cellist, Clarinettist (ideally with access to a Bass Clarinet) and Percussionist to join the ranks for our 2020 season.

If you are interested in submitting an expression of interest, this can be done by emailing Forest Collective Artistic Director, Evan Lawson. Please submit your CV and up to three examples of your work, either as YouTube, Soundcloud or Vimeo links, or links to your website. As Forest Collective is at heart a collaborative environment, so please also send through a paragraph of writing or a short video explaining why you want to collaborate with Forest Collective.

Submissions due by October 31, 2019 via email to evanlawson@forestcollective.com.au
