Getting to know Aleise Bright.

When and why did you start making art?

I had a piano in my bedroom when I was five and I started learning from Ministeps. I also did ballet classes and would dance all day in classes, then come home to my bedroom and dance all night.

What was your favorite Forest Collective project?

I have two favourites, the first was the “Dancing on a volcano” project from 2016, and learning and performing Berlin cabaret songs composed during the Third Reich and in the prison camps. The second was from 2019, “Orpheus.” Creating new music is amazing!

What is a fun fact about you people may not know?

I have a loud voice, I think, because I used to herd cows!!

What is your favorite work of art?

I love Hans Holbein portraits, Edvard Munch, and the opera “Don Carlo.”

What is one of your favorite pieces of music to play/sing/dance to?

It changes every week. This week it has been “Philharmony” by Haruomi Hosono and “Don Carlo.” Most of the time it’s The Prodigy and Beastie Boys.
